Most coaching brands look the same. Pastel pink. Script fonts. “Boss babe” energy. Instagram-perfect flatlay photos with coffee and planners arranged just so.

When I was designing Aligned Life Coaching as a mock project for my portfolio, I wanted to create something completely different.
This is a semi-custom brand concept built for a life and business coach who works with professional women navigating major career transitions — leaving corporate, starting businesses, pivoting industries. Her clients are in their 30s and 40s. They’re smart, they’ve built something already, and they’re skeptical of “coach culture.” They don’t need hype. They need strategy.
The brief was clear: confident but approachable. Serious but not cold. Nothing that looks like an MLM.
The coaching industry is oversaturated. Walk through Instagram and you’ll see the same aesthetic over and over: soft pinks, motivational quotes in loopy script, lifestyle shots that feel more aspirational than real.
This brand needed to stand apart. Not the “manifest your dreams” type — the friend who texts you back immediately with exactly the advice you needed. Warm but direct. Polished but not precious.
The brand had to reflect that. It needed to feel editorial. Strategic. Like someone you’d actually trust with your next chapter.



We built the system around three core ideas: clarity, structure, and warmth.
The logo is a modern geometric sans serif wordmark — clean, confident, minimal. The primary version is horizontal with “Strategy for your next chapter” underneath. We also created a circular badge submark with the letter A at the center, which works beautifully on smaller applications like business cards and social graphics.
The color palette anchors in deep navy and soft cream. No pink. No pastels. Just sophisticated, timeless tones that feel grounded and professional. We added warm neutrals to soften the palette without losing the editorial edge.
Typography pairs a structured sans serif for headlines with a classic serif for body copy. Everything feels polished but not corporate. Warm but not soft.
The photography direction was key. We went moody and editorial — natural light, real textures, film-inspired tones. Photos of women in blazers sitting in natural light. Stationery styled on concrete and oak. Nothing overly staged. Nothing that screams “stock photo coaching brand.”

This brand doesn’t look like other coaching brands. And that’s the point.
